Unit X - Film Screening 2

In this weeks film screening we watched a variety of films/videos. The first of which was a Music Video by Arthur Jafa for 'Solange' for a song called Cranes in the Sky - 2016:

I really like the view that can be seen in the background of this scene.

I think that this video is great in showing the range of different backgrounds that are used, as well as the great use of different camera angles. I think that the people in the first video still stand out the most in their sky blue dresses when compared to the background.

Secondly we watched a short-film by Heather Phillipson entitled 'Of Violence' 2018. This film is based around how she is intruding on her dogs personal space and how her dog becomes an 'involuntary participant in human impositions – emotional, physical, linguistic and political'.

Finally today, we watched the film 'La Jetée ' - by Chris Marker. This was my second time of watching the film, but I still hear new quotes and enjoy it just as much as when I first watched it. It tells the story of dystopian future and a man who is marked by images from his childhood. He tries to use these images to send his mind into that past so he could change the future and he travels through time only to realise, that there is "no escape from" it.
